TWO EX-BULLDOGS GET PRO BOWL HONORS

Going to Honolulu at this point seems to be nothing new for All-Pro offensive guard Logan Mankins, who was named to his fourth pro bowl selection on Tuesday. Yet this time, the former Bulldog standout might have to show Ryan Mathews around. Along with Mankins, Ryan Mathews became the second former Fresno State player to earn Pro Bowl honors as an alternate running back for the 2012 AFC squad, making it the first Pro Bowl nod in his two-year career. Mankins was selected as a starting guard for the AFC squad along with fellow offensive linemen Brian Waters of New [...] Read more »

Fresno State over the years has seldom gone to the junior college ranks to help themselves on the recruiting trail. Pat Hill rarely knocked on the doors of JC guys and asked if they wanted to become Bulldogs during his 15 seasons with the program. If DeRuyter is named the new head coach, this will end a week long wait for Fresno State, who has been searching for a replacement for 15-year head coach Pat Hill, who was fired by Athletic Director Thomas Boeh back on Dec. 4. DeRuyter took [...] Read more »

Here’s a closer at them, who also happen to be at one point, former Bulldogs:           JETHRO FRANKLIN If it weren’t for Pete Carroll bolting for the NFL, Franklin would have been kept at [...] Read more »
