SCOUTING REPORT: DEVON WYLIE

Devon Wylie is the lone Bulldog heading to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, but he has drawn a great deal of attention as of late. The wide receiver has actually gotten comparisons to one current star wide receiver who has played in two Super Bowls in New England’s Wes Welker. Its not just because of the kind of final season Wylie had (career highs with 56 catches and 716 yards), but its also because of the fact that Wylie and Welker are nearly identical in size (both are at least 5-foot-9, 185 pounds) and the fact they play a [...] Read more »

Going to Honolulu at this point seems to be nothing new for All-Pro offensive guard Logan Mankins, who was named to his fourth pro bowl selection on Tuesday. The biggest coaching shakeup in 15 years here in Fresno took place on Sunday, and it now leaves Fresno State in a scramble to not only find the best hire, but also the right hire. Athletic Director Thomas Boeh made one thing clear when he announced the firing of Hill back on Sunday, he’s not looking for a “flashy” hire, but someone along the lines of Rodney Terry for men’s basketball. Terry was, after all, an assistant basketball coach and renown recruiter in Big XII country, but had no college basketball head coaching experience before Fresno State lured him in. Former Bulldog quarterback Ryan Colburn is continuing his trek up north. Colburn will now join the Arena Football League, after it was announced through the Spokane Shock’s website that the Ex-Fresno State quarterback has been added to their 2012 roster.
