TWO EX-BULLDOGS GET PRO BOWL HONORS

Going to Honolulu at this point seems to be nothing new for All-Pro offensive guard Logan Mankins, who was named to his fourth pro bowl selection on Tuesday. Yet this time, the former Bulldog standout might have to show Ryan Mathews around. Along with Mankins, Ryan Mathews became the second former Fresno State player to earn Pro Bowl honors as an alternate running back for the 2012 AFC squad, making it the first Pro Bowl nod in his two-year career. Mankins was selected as a starting guard for the AFC squad along with fellow offensive linemen Brian Waters of New [...] Read more »

The biggest coaching shakeup in 15 years here in Fresno took place on Sunday, and it now leaves Fresno State in a scramble to not only find the best hire, but also the right hire. Terry was, after all, an assistant basketball coach and renown recruiter in Big XII country, but had no college basketball head coaching experience before Fresno State lured him in. BULLDOGS IN THE NFL OCT.9

nfl

Bad calf, shots to the knee, even being shaken up twice after two plays where he tried to hurdle over defenders still didn’t prevent Ryan Mathews from having a career day in the Rocky Mountains. The former Bulldog running back carried the ball 24 times, and ran for a career-best 125 yards as San Diego held off a late Denver Broncos rally and won 29-24 on Sunday. Mathews will likely feel the aches and pains Monday morning, but the bumps and bruises may be all worth it at this point. The second-year pro has clearly become more involved with the [...] Read more »
