Bad calf, shots to the knee, even being shaken up twice after two plays where he tried to hurdle over defenders still didn’t prevent Ryan Mathews from having a career day in the Rocky Mountains. The former Bulldog running back carried the ball 24 times, and ran for a career-best 125 yards as San Diego held off a late Denver Broncos rally and won 29-24 on Sunday. Mathews will likely feel the aches and pains Monday morning, but the bumps and bruises may be all worth it at this point.
