When you suit up and play under renown defensive back coach Tony Perry, chances are you’ll get your family mail box flooded with college football offers. After all, this happened to Ricky Manning when Perry coached the former NFL cornerback while at Edison High School. Clifton Smith was also garnering attention thanks to the coaching of Perry. Devin Ross of Arizona and Courtney Viney of both UCLA and New Mexico State also proved to be successful students of the man many have called T.P around town. Kingsburg has not only been on a hot streak when it comes to claiming central section championships, but the Vikings have also produced a college football prospect each season since the 2009-2010 season. Fresno State over the years has seldom gone to the junior college ranks to help themselves on the recruiting trail. Even DeRuyter admitted that he had rarely gone to the junior college circuit for getting new players, regardless if he was at Ohio, Air Force, [...] Read more »

There was former Bulldog Lorenzo Neal blasting the search committee involved in the new coaching search for not pursuing former Bulldogs through his twitter account and on local television. Internet message boards were also often filled with rants about the new hire, and how many were hoping for former Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, former NFL head coach and current Chicago Bears assistant Mike Martz, even former Bulldog assistant and current Oakland Raider tight end coach Kelly [...] Read more »

Several sources, including the website footballscoop.com is reporting that current Texas A&M interim head coach Tim DeRuyter is set to be introduced Wednesday as Fresno State’s newest head football coach. DeRuyter was reportedly in Fresno this past weekend, and was also brought in for a second interview to see the university and its surrounding facilities. If DeRuyter is named the new head coach, this will end a week long wait for Fresno State, who has been searching for a replacement for 15-year head coach Pat Hill, who was fired by Athletic Director Thomas Boeh back on Dec. 4. DeRuyter took [...] Read more »
