As we continue to be on pins and needles here in the central valley with wondering who the next head football coach at Fresno State will be, we’ll continue our series of some potential coaching candidates to replace Pat Hill. Three more names have been leaked out in recent days, and these guys mainly reside on the defensive side of the ball. Here’s a closer at them, who also happen to be at one point, former Bulldogs:           JETHRO FRANKLIN If it weren’t for Pete Carroll bolting for the NFL, Franklin would have been kept at [...] Read more »

WHO CAN KEEP THE VALLEY RED?

The biggest coaching shakeup in 15 years here in Fresno took place on Sunday, and it now leaves Fresno State in a scramble to not only find the best hire, but also the right hire. Athletic Director Thomas Boeh made one thing clear when he announced the firing of Hill back on Sunday, he’s not looking for a “flashy” hire, but someone along the lines of Rodney Terry for men’s basketball. Terry was, after all, an assistant basketball coach and renown recruiter in Big XII country, but had no college basketball head coaching experience before Fresno State lured him in. He scored 53 total touchdowns, including 27 this past year. He was the leading rusher (773 yards) and receiver (51 catches, 964 yards) for 2011 at Hanford as well. What does the versatile weapon bring to the table? And what qualities does he [...] Read more »

BULLARD RUNNING BACK A FUTURE ROBBIE ROUSE?

Demetrius Warren of Bullard is a small, 5-foot-7, 170 pound running back who, when you see out on the field, is never really the biggest guy out there. This sounds all too familiar with Fresno State’s Robbie Rouse, another 5-foot-7 running back for the Bulldogs. Yet, other than size, there’s so many other similarities that these two have. In fact, both running backs are nearly identical. It may explain why Fresno State made an offer to him recently, and now Warren seems to be pretty high on the Bulldogs according to Scout.com. Here’s a closer look at the Bullard standout [...] Read more »

On the same night Fresno State has their preseason debut versus Fresno Pacific, they also get news about a guard who will make his debut for the Bulldogs in 2012. Fresno State received an oral commitment from combo guard Adam Anderson of Edmond, Okla. The news came out Friday and Anderson is expected to sign a letter of intent this upcoming Wednesday, which is during the early signing period for college basketball. Anderson is a 6-foot-3 combo guard who can both play the point and shooting guard spots for Santa Fe High School in Edmond. Last year’s squad went 20-8 [...] Read more »
